Red Tractor Farm Assurance

We are proud to be part of the Red Tractor Farm Assurance scheme that ensures that we uphold the highest of welfare standards for all of our animals.

We receive regular inspections which not only check that all or our animals are happy and well looked after but that our farm is a safe place for us all to work.

Our South Devon Cows

A true gem in the world of beef breeds, the South Devons are our firm favourites. Originating in Devon and Cornwall, the breed was originally kept for producing both milk and beef, however; since the 1970s they have been bred predominately for their fantastic and flavoursome meat.

South Devons are known for their large muscular frames and their broad heads as well as their beautiful rich red coats with copper tints. Ours are polled (bred to not grow horns) but you might see some horned versions out and about in the countryside.

Our Polled Dorset Sheep

Polled Dorset sheep are a hornless variant of the Dorset Horn and are known for their plain white fleeces and their clean faces. The beauty of the Polled Dorset breed is that they are able to lamb throughout the year, therefore; we are able to provide our customers with fresh lamb twelve months of the year!

Supporting Family Businesses

When you buy from us, you can rest assured that you’re not putting money in the pockets of big corporations. Our animals are processed by T H Lobb at Ruthern Bridge before being expertly butchered by Chris Rounsevell at Caradon Town.
